What is salt

SALT is a training and community program for individuals with POTS. Created by an Exercise Therapist and CPT that has both. This program empowers you to take control of your health and achieve your wellness goals. I was watching the life I had dreamed of slip away. I wanted to run, hike again and see the world. I wanted to summit mountains. To carry my children up the stairs. I wanted to truly live. SALT was created with that singular goal in mind. That to truly live, we must learn to change our mindsets, conquer our fears, tame our nervous systems and fight for the lives we deserve to live. What salt is not

While SALT is not a cure for POTS, it is a research-backed program designed to help individuals with these conditions achieve their health and wellness goals. Created by someone who has experienced the challenges of living with these conditions, SALT provides you with the resources, guidance, and support you need to make positive changes in your life. It's important to keep in mind that one size does not fit all, and that it may take time and effort to see progress. However, research shows that almost all people with POTS can benefit from some level of cardio conditioning and training, which is the foundation of the SALT program. With the goal of reducing symptoms and improving overall well-being, SALT is a valuable tool for anyone with POTS looking to improve their health. Exercises are created to be as EDS-friendly as possible as well.

WHAT DOES SALT MEAN?

SALT is something we are all familiar with if we have POTS. Sodium helps reduce symptoms when paired with the proper electrolytes. It is a foundational tool you will use often. SALT is also our mantra. Just as sodium is something we need to feel our best. It is also a mindset that we need to live our best lives as well. Keep these in your mind as you progress through the levels. Use it to build resiliency when you are tired. When you want to give up or just go back to bed. Dig in. Find your strength, change your attitude, live your life and do not let a diagnosis define you. You are SALT.

Meet the creators of SALT

Sara and Magnus Johnson created SALT after Sara was diagnosed with POTS was told there was a two year waitlist to see a POTS & EDS specialist. She was advised to get a wheelchair and this program was created as a way for her to find healing, when there were no other options available.

Sara Johnson

Sara is an Exercise Therapist, Certified Personal Trainer and program creator with a background in Psychology and Anthropology from Harvard. She has a passion for mindset, resiliency, and the psychology of willpower. After struggling with POTS and EDS herself, Sara created the SALT program to help others live healthy and full lives while managing these conditions. With her expertise and personal experience, Sara is committed to empowering others to achieve their health and wellness goals.

Resiliency & Mindset

Magnus johnson

Magnus has a BA in Behavioral Psychology and is an expert in trauma and resiliency. He is a co-founder of the Veteran NPO Mission 22 and creator of the Recovery & Resiliency Program, which has supported veterans and their families in healing from trauma with remarkable success. After finding the answers to Sara’s health that she had been looking for her entire life, he made it his goal to support her in not only taking her life back, but helping create a program so that others could do the same.
